What is a face wash balm?

A face wash balm or cleansing balm is a solid or semi-solid cleanser that melts on contact with the skin, transforming into a silky oil that dissolves makeup, sunscreen and impurities without stripping. These cleansing balms can be used on their own but can also be used as the first cleanse in any double cleansing method. They gently break down even waterproof mascara and long-wear makeup whilst keeping the skin feeling soft and nourished.
