Chlorophyll is the pigment that lets plants absorb sunlight and turn it into energy
We all know we should be eating our greens, but I love putting them on my face too! Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants, and we can find it in liquid drops and super greens powders, as well as in our skincare.
What is chlorophyll?
Chlorophyll is the pigment that lets plants absorb sunlight and turn it into energy. It's in dark leafy greens like spinach, kale and silverbeet, and in algae like spirulina and chlorella. Supplements often use chlorophyllin, a water-soluble form made from chlorophyll.
What is chlorophyll good for?
Chlorophyll is rich in antioxidants, which help protect the body and skin from free radicals. It's also known for supporting the body's natural cleansing processes. In skincare, chlorophyll is used to help soothe the skin, calm the look of redness and even out skin tone. You'll also find it in natural makeup as a plant-based pigment.
