No. Irene Falcone sold Nourished Life to BWX in 2017 and left completely in 2020. After she left, BWX collapsed and the liquidators sold the Nourished Life name to an overseas company. Irene tried to buy the business back many times and was unsuccessful, so she built Clean Nectarine as its replacement. Irene has had no affiliation or involvement with Nourished Life since it was sold, and does not endorse the ingredient standard it uses today. Irene's original ingredient matrix, created in 2011, left with her and now forms part of her updated Clean Nectarine NO List. Her original team members, Melissa in customer service and Melanie the naturopath, are with her at Clean Nectarine today.

Both dates are Irene Falcone's. In 2011 she started her blog, Living Toxic-Free in the City. That blog then became Nourished Life, which she incorporated as a company in 2012.

No. Julie Mathers, founder of Flora & Fauna, was initially a shareholder when The Future Collective bought the Nourished Life name from the liquidators in 2023. She ceased to be a shareholder in April 2024.

Compared with the original Nourished Life, the one Irene Falcone founded and ran until 2017, Clean Nectarine is close to identical. Same founder, same mission, the same original team members in customer service and naturopathy, and a stricter, updated version of the same ingredient standard.

Clean Nectarine versus Nourished Life after Irene sold it are worlds apart. As often happens when a founder steps away, the business changed. It was sold to an ASX-listed company that underwent several management changes before it was on-sold again. Irene's mission is different. Her product curation is different. And most importantly, her Clean Nectarine NO List is different.

Not every product from a brand meets our standard. We check each item individually, and if one contains an ingredient on the Clean Nectarine NO List, we won't stock it, even if the rest of the range is fine. That's why you'll sometimes find some products from a brand and not others.

We start with the 80-plus ingredients most clean beauty stores ban, then go further with at least 13 more that many 'clean' stores still allow, including phenoxyethanol, fluoride, potassium alum, sucralose, silicones (including dimethicone and amodimethicone) and propylene glycol. Many of the products at Clean Nectarine carry certifications like COSMOS and ACO Certified Organic, NATRUE Certified Natural, Made Safe and Vegan Society. Certification is a great sign, but it's only part of the picture, we check every product against the Clean Nectarine NO List too.

Yes. We don't sell any products tested on animals, and we won't work with any brand that allows its products to be tested on animals. We also have a large vegan range, though we are not a vegan store.

Yes. Talc is on the Clean Nectarine NO List. Talc can still be found in some certified natural products which are tested for purity. However, with alternatives like rice powder and kaolin now doing the same job, we don't need it, and I can see it slowly being phased out, so I won't risk it. All the makeup at Clean Nectarine is talc-free, including pressed powders and blushes, where talc usually hides.

Yes. Fluoride and aluminium, including potassium alum (also known as crystal salts or crystal deodorant), are on the Clean Nectarine NO List, so the dental and deodorant ranges at Clean Nectarine are free from these.

Express Post orders are fast-tracked and leave on the first Australia Post collection of the day.
