A Guide to the New Mukti Bioactive Renewal Range

Mukti's Bioactive Renewal range, and how I use the full collection.

Mukti Bioactive Renewal Day Serum, Night Serum and Eye Crème in black glass on a tray, next to Irene Falcone holding a jar of Mukti Queen of the Night Crème

A Guide to the New Mukti Bioactive Renewal Range

Think of these as a beautiful natural range of skincare, but with these really scientific peptides added to it.

The Mukti Bioactive Renewal range is the Mukti 2.0 version of their original Age Defiance range. I remember when the Age Defiance range first came out, I actually had lunch with Mukti and I was blown away. On one of her hands, she was using her Age Defiance serum and on the other one, she wasn't. And I kid you not, the hand that she was using the serum on looked 10 years younger.

They have amazing clinical studies, which I've added onto each of the product pages. They are all packaged in Mukti's biophotonic black glass, so no light can get in, retaining all of the goodness. And they are vegan and made in Australia.

What are biomimetic peptides?

The products in this range are based on biomimetic peptides, which are a special peptide made to mimic the ones we have in our own skin. And these are combined with Mukti's usual Australian botanicals and their organic base. Think of these as a beautiful natural range of skincare, but with these really scientific peptides added to it.

They contain peptides like Argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-8), which smooths the skin and the look of expression lines, Leuphasyl (pentapeptide-18), which reduces the depth of lines caused by facial expressions, and Serilesine (hexapeptide-10), a firming active that increases elastin. The Eye Crème also contains Eyeseryl (acetyl tetrapeptide-5), which targets puffiness, under-eye bags and dark circles. They're made with native Australian botanicals like Kakadu plum, Davidson plum, quandong and emu apple.

Mukti has the research to back this up. In Mukti's in vitro (lab) testing, the Eye Crème increased type I collagen by 13.3% and made collagen 19.5% faster, while reducing the enzyme that breaks collagen down by 9.9%. So more collagen is made and less is broken down, which Mukti says is a rare combination among skincare formulas.

How to use the full range

This is how to use the full range to get the maximum benefits.

Morning: Start with the Day Serum, add our Eye Crème, and then add our favourite Mukti day cream, based on our skin type. I have dry skin, so I use the Mukti Marigold Hydrating Crème.

Night: The Night Serum for night, then add our beautiful Queen of the Night on top.

The Bioactive Renewal products

Mukti Bioactive Renewal Day Serum

This replaces the OG Age Defiance Day Serum. It's a hydrating serum with four biomimetic peptides, plus Kakadu plum, sea buckthorn, CoQ10 and stabilised vitamin C. In clinical studies, the peptides in this formula showed a 20.6% reduction in wrinkle volume and a 15.9% reduction in wrinkle length after one week, a 17% reduction in wrinkle depth after 15 days, and a 20% reduction in wrinkle volume after 60 days. Mukti says it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Nectarine Rating nectarinenectarinenectarine (3/3)

Mukti Bioactive Renewal Eye Crème

This replaces the OG Age Defiance Eye Serum. I'm using this now and it feels incredible on the skin. It's very thick and creamy, but it soaks in so nicely. It contains three biomimetic peptides, Davidson plum, quandong and emu apple, plus cucumber and chamomile. Use it morning and night, gently pressing it around the eye area with the tip of the ring finger. In clinical studies, twice daily use reduced wrinkle volume by 20.6% after one week and 27% after 30 days, with up to a 29.7% reduction in the volume of eye bags. Mukti Bioactive Renewal Night Serum

This replaces the OG Age Defiance Night Serum. It's a natural alternative to retinoids, with 1% bakuchiol, Chromabright, papain enzyme, niacinamide and a brightening complex of vitamin C, algae and liquorice root. It works overnight to brighten, gently resurface and even out skin tone, and it's fragrance free. Mukti says the bakuchiol makes it suitable for sensitive skin, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Mukti Queen of the Night Crème

This is probably hands down one of the best all-time natural night creams ever invented. The Queen of the Night is still the original formula, just in this new packaging with that beautiful pink colour. That's all natural from the Queen Garnet plum. It's a rich overnight crème with plant-based epidermal growth factor, a ceramide complex that replenishes the lipids that make up 50% of the skin's barrier, plus Kakadu plum, bush tomato and strawberry gum. In testing, it showed 98% improved hydration and smoothness, 84% less rough skin and 78% more plumpness. Mukti made it for mature, peri- and post-menopausal and dry skin. Want a day cream with SPF?

The Mukti Daily Moisturiser with Sunscreen Solar Veil SPF30 is an organic face moisturiser with SPF 30, made with non-nano zinc oxide, Kakadu plum and green tea. Always follow the directions on the label. Nectarine Rating nectarinenectarinenectarine (3/3)
