A Guide to MooGoo Natural Toothpaste

MooGoo make a Moothpaste for every mouth in the house, from sensitive teeth to the fussiest little brushers.

One of my favourite brands, MooGoo, have recently updated their original hydroxyapatite toothpaste (technically they call their toothpaste moothpaste - how cute!). At the same time they have also extended their range with lots of new options for the whole family.

There are now three toothpastes for adults and four for kids. Let's start with the adult range, because this version has changed a few times over the last year, so here's the latest.

MooGoo Whitening Moothpaste: Peppermint or Watermelon & Mint

The MooGoo Whitening Peppermint Moothpaste is the updated version of MooGoo’s original Moothpaste. It’s a classic whitening, mint-flavoured toothpaste, and now there’s also a delicious Watermelon & Mint Moothpaste flavour too.

These are a great option for coffee drinkers, I do love my morning espresso. My husband and I use the peppermint. My kids are young adults now and conscious about their teeth (finally), and they both love the Watermelon & Mint flavour.

These are fluoride-free and use non-nano hydroxyapatite. The hydroxyapatite helps strengthen and remineralise the enamel. It’s been talked about quite a bit as an alternative to fluoride and is a super interesting ingredient. I wrote a whole blog on the benefits of hydroxyapatite if you want to know more.

In addition to hydroxyapatite, they also contain theobromine, which is a natural ingredient from cacao that also helps harden the enamel. Together, the hydroxyapatite and theobromine work a little bit like Spakfilla for the teeth, filling in the little holes and scratches.

They also contain xylitol, which helps stop bacteria from sticking to the teeth and forming plaque.

MooGoo Sensitive Moothpaste

If you have sensitive teeth, MooGoo now have a Sensitive Moothpaste for that too. This toothpaste uses nano hydroxyapatite together with arginine to fill and seal the tiniest exposed gaps in the teeth, helping with that sharp pain you can get from hot, cold or sweet foods. It also contains theobromine and xylitol and it has a mild peppermint flavour from natural peppermint oil.

MooGoo Kids Moothpaste: Vanilla Ice Cream, Strawberries & Cream, Blueberry Smoothie and Watermelon Sherbet

And for the kids, MooGoo now have four flavours, from creamy Vanilla Ice Cream and Strawberries & Cream to fruity Blueberry Smoothie and Watermelon Sherbet.

Because little kids can swallow toothpaste, MooGoo have kept these as simple, fluoride-free formulas with natural silica to gently clean the teeth and xylitol to help reduce plaque build-up. They have an enamel-friendly pH and are safe if a small amount is swallowed.
