The 6 Exact Toxin-Free Hair Products I Use

Good natural hair care is hard to find, and many so-called natural products still have hidden silicones and other questionable ingredients.

This is my exact hair routine. All six products are natural and silicone free.

Ingredients I Avoid

I avoid silicones like dimethicone, amodimethicone and dimethiconol. I also avoid phenoxyethanol, and stearalkonium chloride, which is common in detanglers.

My Exact Routine

Step 1, 100% Pure Burdock and Neem Healthy Scalp Shampoo

I start with the 100% Pure Burdock and Neem Healthy Scalp Shampoo. It has organic burdock root, neem leaf and peppermint. The peppermint makes my scalp feel a little fresh and tingly in the best kind of way.

Step 2, 100% Pure Multi-Vitamin Healthy Hair Conditioner

Then I use the 100% Pure Multi-Vitamin Healthy Hair Conditioner on my mid lengths and ends. It has biotin, provitamin B5 and vitamin E. It's really thick, like a custard, and it smells like a lemony, citrusy custard. It's just delicious for the hair.

Step 3, Dr. Bronner's Leave In Conditioner Lavender & Coconut

On damp hair, I put a small amount of the Dr. Bronner's Leave In Conditioner Lavender & Coconut through my mid lengths and ends. It helps with frizz. I love the smell. It's a beautiful coconut and lavender scent, and it leaves a beautiful scent on my hair once it dries.

Step 4, Yarok Feed Your Roots Mousse

While my hair is still damp, I work a pump or two of the Yarok Feed Your Roots Mousse into my roots. It has organic shea butter, coconut oil and dandelion root, and it gives me lift at the roots. It's like the mousse we all remember from the 80s, but a natural version.

Step 5, Weleda Revitalising Hair Tonic

Once my hair is dry, I put the Weleda Revitalising Hair Tonic With Rosemary along my part and massage it into my scalp. It helps with hair and scalp health and helps my hair get nice and thick. It's one of the products I put my thick hair down to.

Step 6, Vanessa Megan Anti-Frizz Smoothing Serum with Hyaluronic Acid

The last thing I do, once my hair is dry, is the Vanessa Megan Anti-Frizz Smoothing Serum with Hyaluronic Acid. It's a clear gel, and I put a little over my hair. It's the best natural hair serum on the market. It gets rid of all my frizz and leaves no residue, because it's not oily at all.
