A Guide to the Weleda Skin Food Face Range

Weleda has taken its iconic Skin Food and turned it into a complete face care range. Here’s what’s in it, how the Phyto-Infusion blend works, and how to build your routine.
A Guide to the Weleda Skin Food Face Range

A Guide to the Weleda Skin Food Face Range

Did you know the original Weleda Skin Food turns 100 years old this year? It’s one of the most iconic natural skincare formulas ever made.

In November 2023, Weleda expanded Skin Food into a dedicated face care range, with formulas designed specifically for the face. It keeps the same signature Phyto-Infusion botanical blend, just in lighter, faster-absorbing textures suited to daily skincare. I’ve also shared more on the history behind Skin Food and the signature blend in this guide.

The Weleda Skin Food Face Care range

The Phyto-Infusion is a blend of calendula, chamomile, rosemary and wild pansy. Calendula and chamomile are known for their calming and soothing properties, rosemary provides antioxidant support, and wild pansy is known for its moisturising and skin-smoothing qualities. This blend runs through every product in the range, along with the signature Skin Food scent of orange blossom, lavender and warm benzoin.

Here’s an overview of the full Skin Food Face Care range.

Weleda Skin Food Face Care Nourishing Cleansing Balm

The Weleda Skin Food Face Care Nourishing Cleansing Balm is a balm-to-milk cleanser for normal to dry skin. It's formulated with organic sunflower seed oil and melts away makeup and daily build-up beautifully. Add water and it turns into a milky emulsion that rinses off cleanly, with no residue, and the skin feels hydrated after. It's a great first step in a double cleanse.

Weleda Skin Food Super Serum

The Weleda Skin Food Super Serum is a newer addition to the range and one I was really excited to stock. It works for all skin types, including dry, dehydrated and dull skin, and combines hyaluronic acid and ceramides with the signature Skin Food botanical blend. It has a lightweight milky texture, absorbs quickly, and sits beautifully under moisturiser or makeup. It comes in a green glass bottle with a dropper, so it’s easy to use and fits seamlessly into a daily routine.

I’ve written a full review of the Skin Food Super Serum here.

Weleda Skin Food Face Care Nourishing Day Cream

The Weleda Skin Food Face Care Nourishing Day Cream is the everyday face version of the original. It has the same core botanicals, but with olive squalane and organic sunflower seed oil instead of the heavier base, so it absorbs quickly and sits beautifully under makeup. Dry skin will love it without it feeling heavy.

Weleda Skin Food Face Care Nourishing Night Cream

The Weleda Skin Food Face Care Nourishing Night Cream is richer and designed to work while you sleep. It contains organic sacha inchi oil, which is high in alpha-linolenic acid, along with shea butter and olive squalane. It’s the one to reach for if your skin feels depleted or you’re going through a dry patch.

Weleda Skin Food Lip Balm and Lip Stick

There are two lip products in the range. The Weleda Skin Food Lip Balm is a rich liquid balm with beeswax and natural oils, great for very dry or chapped lips, especially in cold weather. The Weleda Skin Food Lip Stick is a solid vegan balm stick with cocoa seed butter for a soft, natural finish. Both are easy everyday staples.

The range works beautifully together as a complete routine. Start with the Cleansing Balm, follow with the Super Serum, then finish with the Day Cream in the morning or the Night Cream in the evening.
