Let's get ready for summer. Here is my 2026 mineral face sunscreen guide.
All of the mineral face sunscreens in this guide use zinc oxide as the active ingredient. I've included a mix of clear zinc face sunscreens that can be worn every day on their own if you have oily skin, or over your daily moisturiser if you have normal to dry skin. They also all sit really nicely under makeup. I've also included some great tinted sunscreen options. Some have just a slight tint to tone down any white cast, and others give light to medium coverage and can be worn like a BB cream. You'll notice all of these options include natural skincare ingredients like pink algae, CoQ10, Kakadu plum and jojoba oil, so as well as providing your daily sun protection, they also feel really nice on the skin with added skincare benefits.
Little Urchin Natural Face Clear Zinc Sunscreen SPF 50+
This Little Urchin clear zinc contains ceramides and pink algae, plus jojoba oil, coconut oil, castor oil and vitamin E. It's fragrance free, rubs in clear with a smooth, non-greasy finish and comes in a handy pump.
Wotnot Face Sunscreen Zinc + CoQ10 SPF 50
This is a new face sunscreen from Wotnot, and it's made with CoQ10 and vitamin E in a base of coconut oil, castor oil and candelilla wax. It dries to a matte finish with no white cast.
MOTHER SPF Tinted Base SPF 50
The sheer tint in this MOTHER SPF comes from iron oxide, and it's titanium dioxide free. It has a beautiful mousse-like texture and a light beige tint that adjusts to your skin tone for a natural, radiant finish. It also contains niacinamide, aloe vera, jojoba oil and pongamol, a plant-derived ingredient from the seeds of the pongamia tree, to help lock in moisture.
MooGoo Tinted SPF 40 Face Cream
MooGoo's tinted SPF 40 face cream is also titanium dioxide free. It has a warm, light to medium tint, so it adds a little more colour, a bit more like a BB cream. It also contains jojoba oil and oleic acid.
INIKA Organic Natural Sunscreen SPF 50+
INIKA's natural sunscreen contains both pink algae and jojoba, plus coconut oil, castor oil and vitamin E. It's clear, lightweight and fragrance free, and it blends in without a white cast.
INIKA Organic Tinted Natural Sunscreen SPF 50+
This INIKA tinted version also has pink algae and jojoba oil, but it has a medium tint, which gives a warm, sunkissed glow. This is a great option if you're wearing a little fake tan on your face or if you have a medium to tan skin tone. It's also titanium dioxide free and fragrance free.
Avocado Zinc SPF 50 Natural Tinted Moisturiser
The Avocado Zinc SPF 50 comes in light, medium and darker shades, but it does contain titanium dioxide. It has a soft, dewy finish, and it's made with avocado oil, coconut oil, castor oil and vitamin E.
Mukti Solar Veil SPF 30
Mukti's Solar Veil is an organic face moisturiser with added SPF 30. It has a very slight tint and no titanium dioxide, and it leaves a sheer, dewy finish. It's made with Kakadu plum, green tea, desert lime, aloe vera, squalane, calendula, rosehip, rosemary and CoQ10.
Vanessa Megan SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen
Vanessa Megan's sunscreen has a very sheer tint, but it does dry clear, and it's titanium dioxide free. It's made with hyaluronic acid, sea buckthorn, Kakadu plum, calendula, jojoba oil, vitamin C and vitamin E, and you can wear it on the face and body.
Always read the label. Follow the directions for use. Sunscreen is only one part of sun protection. Wear protective clothing, seek shade, avoid prolonged sun exposure and reapply frequently.
